“If you’re a human being, you live and work with trauma.” - Kathy Taylor

This course acknowledges the neurological impacts of trauma, chronic stress and nervous system misattunement (physical, psychological, emotional, complex), and the high instances of folks experiencing a disconnection from their physical bodies.

Our approach is people-centred and explorative.

We assume everyone has experienced some level of trauma or significant life stress. We don’t believe everything is trauma, we also believe that anything could be traumatic. As such, our approach rests on a set of principles that promotes safety, inclusivity, harm reduction, choice, trustworthiness, transparency and body autonomy.

Testimonials

"As a practitioner in the torture and trauma space for a number of years, I found Kathy’s trauma informed yoga and movement facilitation course to be invaluable. It provided a unique and profound reminder of the human aspect in an often-dehumanized field, something that many previous trainings had not offered. The course provided a comprehensive introduction to practical trauma informed and trauma aware practices, effectively humanizing the trauma space and making it accessible to all levels of learning. It included practical and meaningful activities that were real and authentic, harnessing the power of lived and living experiences, and brought a refreshing and impactful perspective to trauma informed practice. Kathy’s warm, engaging and welcoming facilitation fostered a strong connection within the space. I highly recommend this course as essential to anyone considering running, coordinating or supporting yoga and movement groups at your organisation. As someone who works in the trauma space, I found the specific considerations highlighted and discussed in this course to be paramount to participant safety. I am extremely grateful for people like Kathy and for this course supporting the creation of more inclusive spaces for survivors in our communities. Thank you."

“Kathy’s course has equipped me with the tools and the language to confidently speak about the importance of creating and holding space for individuals with varying lived experiences, and to facilitate movement modalities in a way that is trauma mindful to reduce pathways to harm. Kathy’s teachings come from a place of so much passion and authenticity. Kathy has the very impressive skill of delivering heavy and sensitive, yet necessary and powerful content in a way that is accessible and digestible. Kathy does all of this without engaging in any forms of spiritual bypassing (which can be common within the realm of yoga), nor denial or minimisation of individuals’ lived experiences. Not only will I be able to incorporate Kathy’s teachings into my yoga facilitations, these learnings will trickle out into each of my everyday interactions with my loved ones and wider community, as well as within my workplace, to promote greater mutual understanding, compassion and connection. It was an honour and a privilege to learn alongside Kathy. With so much love and appreciation.”

“Hi Kathy, I'm in tears sending this message (happy and deep emotional). I have just started your program on EVERY FELT SENSE. It's so so comforting to know I am NOT ALONE in this journey with CPTSD and ADHD. I absolutely love the short clips when struggling to "do anything." Those 5/10 minutes may not seem like much but.... they make a huge difference to me. The chair yoga has been great for me whilst I am unable to do floor yoga. Your calm voice/suggestions/advice are heartfelt and it's been a real testament to your teachings. I am doing little baby steps every day and you have helped me more than you will know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
